In most cases, the school district will pay you directly through a mailed check (USPS), direct deposit, or ArbiterPay. Each school district has adopted its own vendor payment process. Receipt of payment can take anywhere from 1 to 45 days.
Pay rates depend on the level of basketball game you are referring. Updated pay rates for the 2022-2023 season can be found here: https://www.uiltexas.org/athletics/officials-fee-schedule
Our chapter provides fantastic training! We have lots of veteran officials who work directly with new members well before the season starts to bring them up to speed. We also have a mentorship program that allows new members to ask questions to veteran officials throughout the season.
As many as you want! The amount of games you work depends on you and your schedule.
FWBOA uses a scheduling website called Arbiter Sports. Click here to connect to the Arbiter Sports website. Please note: An online application must be completed and all dues paid before you are added to the scheduling software.
As part of our FWBOA Operating Procedures (Section 2), members MUST keep their availability and block out dates current at all times in Arbiter. It is imperative that you create your blocks as early as possible to eliminate the need to reject games that our assignment committee distributes. Failure to do so could result in a member being referred to our ethics committe.
FWBOA covers games over all around the Ft. Worth area. Our assignment secretary does his best to keep games assigned to officials close to their homes and/or work. More information can be found here.
If you must turn back an accepted game, it is very important that you follow the steps in our Accepted Game Returns process. Click the link to get started.
