THANKSGIVING WEEK
Schools are notorious for scheduling basketball games during the week of Thanksgiving during the middle of the day. Most of us don’t have the opportunity to be off that entire week. This makes it difficult for us to officiate games in the late morning or early afternoon timeframe. We sent a letter to all the coaches that stated that WE WILL NOT COVER any games before 5 pm the week of Thanksgiving. This does not include tournament games. We will also address this issue during the Christmas break if needed. If a coach contacts you personally to officiate a game please politely decline and contact Ron to let him know. You can only accept games that are assigned by an FWBOA Assignor. You will be in violation of our bylaws if you accept a game that has not been assigned by our assignors.
BLOCKS
Make sure you are blocking the dates and times that you CAN NOT WORK! We have some officials who are blocking their available times which is requiring the chapter to reassign those games.
